Skin aging is a complex process that is exacerbated by continuous exposure to UV radiation. UV radiation induces the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that contribute to collagen depletion and ultimately skin wrinkling. Plant extracts that support the health, texture, and well-being of skin, hair, and nails are widely used in cosmetic formulations. Soybean seed extract has positive research support for its antioxidant, antiproliferative, and anticancer activities.
After preparing the soybean hydrolysate, the substances contained in the hydrolysate were analyzed by different methods. Then, the antimicrobial evaluation was performed using the MIC test. Also, the survival effect of soybean hydrolysate on L929 mouse fibroblast cells and its anti-aging effect on mouse fibroblast cells treated with hydrogen peroxide were performed using the MTT test
The results of the studies showed that alkaline soybean hydrolysates are rich in protein bonds that have high antioxidant properties, and the results of the MIC test showed that soybean hydrolysate lacked antimicrobial effect. Also, soybean hydrolysate showed a strong proliferative effect on healthy cells, which was accompanied by a significant increase in all concentrations studied. The MTT esults of aged fibroblast cells treated with hydrogen peroxide showed maximum protection at a concentration 1/64 and the weakest protection at a concentration of 1/8
Thus, it can be concluded that soy protein hydrolysate with appropriate viscosity can be used as a natural and safe compound in the cell-protecting cosmetic and health industries.
